Description:

Latitude 48 IPA is brewed with a unique blend of hops from top growing regions in Germany, the UK, and the US, all close to the 48th Latitude. In 2013 we added Mosaic hops from Washington state for a bright citrus note and to complement the distinct character of the other four hop varieties included.

Pours a clear amber, with two fingers head. Head has nice retention and lacing.

The nose is predicatable: hoppy with a little malt. Hops are grapefruit citrus and pine. Taste is nicely hop focused, with malt and the citrus hops balancing the more piney and earthy flavors. A nice smooth body with just enough carbonation to still be a little prickly on the tongue.

Although it may not be as nuanced or complex as some other American IPAs, this is a good example of the AIPA style and more widely available than many of its competitors.
