Numbskull Stout is a gorgeous black in the pint glass. When it was brought to me at the taproom, there was a tan head about a pinky thick. It took a while, but it morphed into a ring.
I smell coffee, chocolate, and some dark fruits; I get a fruity flavor, but I couldn't really tell you what kind of fruits, really.
The taste is a bit clearer with the coffee, chocolate, plums, some cherries, and a bit of booze on the end.
Goodness, this 10% ABV has been sinking in while I've slowly typed up this comment. This has quite a punch. I've enjoyed the stouts and porters, for the most part, from The Brew Stooges. I would seriously consider buying a small growler of Numbskull Stout this winter for those evenings that I want to just chill.
