Competition for Old Rasputin's Complexity
Poured nearly black with dense two-finger head that shrank quickly but never disappeared, leaving a nice lacing on the glass. Smells of dark roast coffee, vanilla, and some raisin in the background. Taste is strong on the dark roast with chocolate, oats, caramel, and smoke lingering there, too. Nice body, but maybe not as thick as other oatmeal stouts. I found Mikkeller's Beer Geek Breakfast to be on the same level of complexity and boldness as Old Rasputin RIS.
