Wordplay is the key to my beer heart
New Belgium RyePA is a rye indian pale ale. It pours a dark yellow gold, clear and crisp. The aroma is all citrus and a little bit spicy. I get more of the hops than the malt. In the flavor though, the rye comes through and makes everything balance nicely. It really does have a bit of a spicy kick in the finish, which is pretty impressive considering there isn’t any pepper flavoring here (and it’s way better than most of those hot IPAs that seem to be so in style these days). The finish is clean and bright and makes you want to drink more.
