Newcastle Brown Ale pours (unsurprisingly) a reddish-brown with a thin off-white head.
Smells of malt and hops with a subtle nuttiness. Not bad, just nothing special. The taste is similar, with a crisp maltiness upfront, balanced by the bitter hops toward the finish. A very clean finish with hardly any aftertaste.
Less body than expected, with light carbonation. Easy to drink and well balanced, but nothing exciting.
Brown/amber with a beige head. Smells of malt and yeast...not much else. Tastes of burned malts and tobacco. Not bad, but not something that makes me want to drink more. Disappointed.
