Description:
This jaw-dropping Scottish strong ale (8% ABV) is brewed with bodacious amounts of malted barley and specialty grains, and a dash of beechwood-smoked malt. Old Chub features semi-sweet flavors of cocoa and coffee, and a wee-bit of smoke. A head-turning treat for malt heads and folks who think they don’t dig dark beer. (Description provided by company)

Open a can of Old Chub; open a can of whoop-ass
When I poured Old Chub from the can into a glass, I saw a dark caramel brew with a finger of a tan head. The head never went away and the retention of lacing was most impressive. I smell caramel, coffee, and a bit of chocolate. The taste is mostly nutty with coffee and chocolate behind. It tastes like a very nutty stout. This wee-heavy has a sizeable body and the carbonation is far more visibly noticeable than when flowing over the tongue. I really enjoyed Old Chub and think it is a good option for those that may prefer amber or brown ales over stouts/porters.
