Description:

Like a fine port, Old Stock Ale is intended to be laid down. With an original gravity of over 1.100 and a generous hopping rate, Old Stock Ale is well-designed to round out and mellow with age. It's brewed with classic Maris Otter malt and Fuggles and East Kent Goldings hops, all imported from England. (Description provided by company)

I poured my bottle of 2014 into a glass to reveal a muddy brown brew with a thin tan head that looked creamy as it shrank away to nothing. Old Stock Ale smells of dark fruits and caramelized sugar. The taste is the same as the smell with an additional earthiness that keeps it from being too sweet. My first drink makes me all the more interested in cellaring some bottles.
