An unfiltered, unfettered, unprecedented brown ale aged in handmade wooden brewing vessels. Pours an opaque black with a light brown head. One finger, and nice retention and strong lacing.

Nose has a lot going on. Roasted coffee, very subtle dark chocolate, some acidic fruitiness, vanilla woody aromas, and some dry alcohol.

Definitely a sipping beer. The roasted malt character is very strong, and the fruit and vanilla flavors are also strong. Alcohol gives a very dry finish. Very complex - lots going on.

Very full body - coats the inside of your mouth. Leaves obvious legs on the side of the glass like red wine. Moderately low carbonation.

Strong in flavor, character and alcohol. If you like the dark roasted malt flavors with a little bit of extra depth from the wood aging and extra alcohol, this is a beer to try.
