New Belgium's Saison Harvest Ale pours what they call a bronze color. Really though, it’s basically yellow. There’s a small but dense head atop this beer, which looks great. It balances out the somewhat unappealing yellow color. The Belgian yeast really comes through in the smell, with a nice biscuity sweetness.

The taste follows suit. Nice Belgian sweetness, very little bitterness at all. The slightly sour finish in New Belgium's description is there, but it's really understated. Low carbonation and light body make for a pleasant beer to sip as the temperatures drop.

In all, this is a great beer. Certainly not the best Belgian you can buy. But it might be, if your shopping is limited to supermarket bottles. Belgian yeast imparts a specific kind of flavor. So if you're into that, you'll like this brew.
