Description:

The Extra Special Bitter style originated as a Pale Ale but over time became known as ESB. Session Ale uses a traditional malt character from the Maris Otter malt, along with the fruity and ester character of the yeast. We brewed this beer with English hops to bring out the floral, citrus notes of Bavarian Noble hops. (Description provided by company)

Pours out a clear light gold, with a very full but quickly receding, bubbly white head. I wish the head lasted a little bit longer, since after about 20 second there is only a thin, white layer of bubbles.

A refreshing balance of crisp, bready malt aromas and floral and grassy hop aromas. The hop bitterness comes out more in the flavor than it did in the aroma, but it is only moderately low. The flavor balance leans a little heavier on the hop flavors than the malt, and the aftertaste is medium long but pleasant and highlights some nice herbal and floral notes.

Easy drinking and some nice balanced flavors - exactly what I like out of a session beer.
