Not a bad slice of summer
Poured into glass a dingy gold with lots of bubbles and a tiny head that was barely there. I can smell wheat, lemons, and spice. Taste is similar with a bit of grassy hops in there, too. Nice lemony finish. Feels rather full-bodied on the tongue with nice carbonation that coats but doesn't tickle the tongue enough to remove the smooth flow of beer. Samuel Adams Summer Ale is quite good and probably where I'd direct my interest if having to buy at a grocery store with a limited selection.
Beat the heat with this summer ale
A cloudy golden orange with a very thin and fast disappearing head.
The lemon peel and grains of paradise are pretty obvious in the nose, along with the citrusy hops. Along with the background of a soft and slightly tangy wheat malt.
A similar taste, with the citrus and light spice of the grains of paradise up front, and a very quick and clean finish. A nice riff on the typical wheat beer, but nothing too exciting or aggressive.
A surprising medium full body and a moderate carbonation.
The Sam Adams Summer Ale is just that, a pretty good wheat beer to help take some of the heat out of a hot summer's day.
