A trophy beer that’s a testament to our homebrew roots.
Our Sculpin IPA is a great example of what got us into brewing in the first place. After years of experimenting, we knew hopping an ale at five separate stages would produce something special. The result ended up being this gold-medal winning IPA, whose inspired use of hops creates hints of apricot, peach, mango and lemon flavors, but still packs a bit of a sting, just like a Sculpin fish. Flavorful hops!
Pours out a light and clear golden amber with a full, off white clingy and foamy head.
Lots of grapefruit and citrus fruity hop aromas with a nice malt crispness. The bitterness is moderately high (expected for an IPA) but the hop flavors are varied and interesting. There's some of the grapefruit and other citrus, some pine, and a nice crisp bready malt. A long and slow finish lets you really savor the bitter hop flavors, but it's not too bad.
Hoppy but with lots of fruity and citrus flavors.
