A Belgian Ale Meets American Hops
Pours a perfectly clear amber, with two fingers of an off white head. Head has moderate retention and is very creamy.
Nose is very interesting, with the caramel and pale malts blending nicely with the fruity yeast aromas. Hop aromas are low and mostly citrusy.
The taste has American Pale Ale levels of hop flavor, although not quite that much hop bitterness. The banana like yeast flavors are there, but subtle. Malt backbone is nicely balanced against the hops. Aftertaste is long, but not overly bitter.
Moderate light body and medium carbonation.
A very American take on a Belgian style, the Spacewalker American Belgo is like a good Belgian ale with the hop levels turned up to 10.5. If you like subtle yeast ester flavors and have wanted to add a bunch of American hop flavors, give this beer a try.
