Straffe Hendrik Tripel is a golden triple with a sturdy white collar. The armona is spicy with hints of black pepper, coriander and ginger, and is even insinuating the presence of oranges.
The beer is brewed with a selection of Saaz and Styrian hops of a very high quality. The subtle blend of six special varieties of malt gives the beer a well-balanced and powerful taste.
The palate initiates a hint of caramel, soon flowing into a certain bitterness. In the finish one can discover citrus fruits and even subtle flavours of banana.
The triple has an alcohol percentage of 9° and the refermentatation in the bottle generates a long natural shelf life. (Description provided by company)

Good tripel, but may not be worth import price
Straffe Hendrik poured into the glass a clear burnt orange with hardly any carbonation in sight, let alone a head. This smells of apricots and toffee. Taste is caramelized sugar, light fruits, and a slight grassiness from hops. Feels med bodied with a liquor-like feel. Quite nice.
Layers of light fruit
Straffe Hendrick tripel is a hazy orangish-brown with a thin white head that didn't stay around.
Oranges, apricots, honey, grass, and some brandy notes stand out when I sniff my glass.
The taste encompasses the same fruit as in the aroma, but there is a bitterness here that tempers how sweet this gets.
A high quality tripel which frequently is priced as such.
