By using an exact amount of rye, a grain seldom found in other micro brewed beers, the Rye Pale Ale acquires its signature taste. Rye I Oughtta
Terrapin’s Rye Pale Ale pours a semi-transparent golden color with a slight reddish tint. It smells strongly of hops and the titular rye. While the flavor is rather hop-forward, the beer doesn’t have an overly aggressive hop taste to it. If I had to guess this would be due to the presence of the rye. It provides a nice complexity to the drink. As strong as the hops are, there is only just a slightly bitter aftertaste that dissipates quickly. It’s a tasty beer.
