Description:
VooDoo Vater Doppelbock tempers the sweetness of caramel malt with the crispy, more nutty flavor of Munich malt. Despite the depth of color, burnt flavors are not present. Traditional extended lagering makes the VooDoo Vater deceptively smooth though high in alcohol. Be warned. (Description provided by company)

Nobody does Voodoo like you do
Pours a very dark brown to black, with a surprisingly (and disappointingly) small light tan head.
Malty and roasted aromas dominate, with nutty, chocolate, caramel, and very little alcohol - surprising for a 9% ABV.
Taste also highlights the malt complexity, with some nice nutty and roasted flavors. A very light sweetness helps temper the moderate bitterness from the roasted malt. A little bit of alcohol is detectable toward the finish, but it's mostly well hidden.
A fairly light bodied lager, and the carbonation is moderate.
It's not the strongest of most bitter beer, but the Atwater VoodooVater does a nice job at a style that I haven't seen done very much. If darker, malty beers are your thing, give this one a taste.
