AAAAGGGGHHHH!
Pours a dark and reddish amber. Clear, with a finger of an off white head. Head is gone after about 15 seconds. Nice lacing is left behind, though.
Nose is, as expected, pumpkin and pumpkin related spices. Strong on nutmeg and clove, and a little bit of bready malt aromas as well.
Pumpkin flavor is less overbearing in the flavor than in the nose, with some pale malts and a light earthy hop flavor nicely balancing. Overall bitterness is low, and the aftertaste is moderately long.
Very crisp in the mouth - light body and moderate carbonation.
Compared to some other fall seasonal pumpkin beers, Magic Hat's Wilhelm Scream actually has flavors from both traditional beers as well as some of the more familiar fall flavors.
