Yellowhammer's Imperial Pilsner is as rich as it is gold
Came to me a deep gold with a pearly white thumb-thick head atop. Shrank to a film after a while and left nice lacing on the glass.
Smells of grassy and earthy hops bound together by caramel sweetness. Very nicely rounded in tone.
Hops also star on the tongue, ample biscuit, grass, and mulch with a sweet syrup finish. I get some grapefruit on the aftertaste.
Feels thicker than I expected; a well-rounded medium body with enough carbonation to excite the tongue and highlight the slight hop bite.
I don't care for hoppy beers, but the way these hops are featured and framed with a rich sweetness is very appealing to me.
