Pours a transparent golden amber with a thin bubbly head. Nice lacing and retention.

Nose is citrusy with a nice malt backbone. Not as assertive as some APAs, but nicely balanced.

Taste is similar, with stronger citrus and grapefruit notes than the nose suggested. Subtle pale malt flavors help balance out the moderate bitterness and give a moderately long aftertaste.

Medium body and carbonation.

Although Three Floyds is known for brewing some beers that are strong and assertive, this seems like a beer more for the "casual" beer drinker. It's very tasty and nicely balanced, but it's not a beer that you have to sip (especially if you're used to things more in the IPA/Imperial IPA realm). This would be a nice beer to introduce some stronger Cascade hop flavors, while not having the bitterness turned up to 11.
