So many places it could have gone wrong, but didn't!
New Belgium Citradelic is an IPA with tangerine. It pours an effervescent golden color with a fizzy but quickly dissipating head. The nose has a strong hope bouquet, but underneath that bright earthiness is a really sweet citrus note, thanks to the tangerine. It’s there in the flavor as well, but not as prominent as I feared (a super sweet IPA? No thank you). Instead, you get a lot of crisp hops and a little bit of bitterness in the finish. Somehow that tangerine is just along for the ride, boosting the complexity of the flavor. It’s a nice take on a citrus-tinged IPA.
