Avondale's Battlefield IPA is a clear gold with a pearly white head just about two fingers thick. The head went away after a minute or two. No lacing.

A blend of pine and grapefruit is the primary smell. There is also a sugary, caramel like aroma I can also detect.

Taste is on the mellower side for an IPA, IMO. This is more approachable than many other American IPAs I've had. Avondale does not seem interested in cramming as much hops as possible in Battlefield IPA.

A great beer for introducing new craft beer drinkers to IPAs,which certainly fits the majority of the Alabama market.
