Description:

This brew is an India Pale Ale by style, but that is where the similarity to most IPAs ends. Each consecutive batch of Hop Project is brewed with a different blend of spicy, aromatic hops, never using the same blend twice. It's a hop-head's dream come true!

Check the bottled-on date and our blog to decode what specific hop varieties we used in that batch. (Description provided by company)

Pours a cloudy reddish amber with about a half finger of a foamy white head. The head doesn't stay long, but does leave some nice lacing.

True to the name, hops are prominent and assertive. Some citrus and slightly earthy notes from the hops along with a nice caramel malt backbone.

Taste is hoppy, with strong citrus, pine, and light earthy flavors. A very nice caramel and pale malt base helps to take a little bit of the edge off the bitterness. Although the hop flavors are strong, the bitterness is only moderate, and nicely balanced to remain drinkable. A moderate aftertaste with a hint of bitterness.

A medium body and slightly lower-than-average carbonation.

Yazoo's Hop Project is a nice and hoppy pale ale - although not easy to find if you don't live in the southeast. If you're in the area and like strong hop flavors with balanced bitterness, this is one worth seeking out.
