Pours a deep ruby red with a full finger plus of an off white and long lasting foamy head.

The nose has both a malt richness and a sour tartness . Very interesting. Notes of dry and sweet red wines, woody oak, dark fruits, along with conventional caramel and toasty malt aromas.

Strong notes of both dry and sweet red wine, along with a light woodwinds in the taste. Despite the very sour nose, the taste is nicely balanced and flavorful. Malt flavors are rich and sweet - toffee, caramel, dark fruits. The aftertaste tapers down quite quickly, but does leave whispers of the yeasty sourness for awhile.

Full body and moderate carbonation.

A testament to what aging in barrels and some fancy yeast can do. There are lots of things going on in this bottle, and the fact that it is bottled with some yeast means that you should grab some bottles and store a few away to try in 6 months or a year. If you are looking to expand your beer palate, this should be on your list.
