Description:

Our namesake beer, TrimTab IPA is a balanced, sessionable IPA that explores intense hop aroma and flavor without excessive bitterness. A huge amount of Pacifica hops are added in dry hop, which adds to this beer’s distinctive orange marmalade, rose petal and peppercorn character. Ripe citrus fruit aromas and flavors dominate, creating a beer that is an iconic example of TrimTab’s commitment to making expressive and complex, yet balanced craft beer. It’s an effort to answer the question, “what does it mean to be a Southern IPA?” (Description provided by company)

I had this in a small bar in Gadsden, AL. Draft, served in a Pilsner glass. Nice, light and refreshing. Golden hues, as opposed to the darker colors of some American IPAs. Lightly hoppy, enough to give floral, pine, and citrus notes, but not into the "forest fire, hops away!" or heavy grapefruit tastes. Quite sessionable; a friend of mine and I had a pitcher between us, and I was no worse for the wear the next morning. Definitely meets the "Would I drink this after yard work? criteria-- not too heavy, not too watery, not terribly sweet, won't blow your head off with hops but satisfies the taste for them well.

All in all, will drink again. Second favorite beer at the moment, behind Back Forty Freckle Belly IPA. Soon to start shipping in cans, so at least I'll have it locally.
