Description:
We use the imported Belgian dark candi sugar. It lends a lot of the color and those dark stone fruit flavors. We also use German and Belgian malts so it's a very European-tasting beer. We age it a little bit longer than the other beers we make, and it's also the highest gravity beer we make, at 10.5 percent ABV. (Description provided by head brewer in interview with al.com)

Dark Hammer Is a Mighty Quad
Dark Hammer poured out of the bomber a dark caramel with a beige head which grew and shrank away like a wave coming in and immediately leaving. A smoky ring was all that remained.
I'm getting mostly plums, candied sugar, and sherry when I smell this.
Dark Hammer tastes pretty much like it smells.
This quad has a body thicker than Beyonce. This is a sipper of a beer which may be just a bit too light on carbonation.
