Comments
Not as tough as you might think
Oculto is a blue agave infused beer aged on tequila barrel staves. It pours a light and clear yellow with a white head which quickly dissipated. I definitely smell the agave in the nose, as well as a bit of tequila from the staves. The flavor is bright- citrus would pair well with this- and smooth. A fair heft of carbonation makes this one surprisingly refreshing and well done. I had my doubts with the skull branding and all, but it's solid.
Oculto: A Meh Malternative
Oculto went into the glass a pale corn color with a light fog of a head that blew away immediately. Smells very sweet, like a berry and citrus soda. I think I can detects hint of tequila in the taste, but it is mostly fruity sweetness. Very thin body, but that wasn't a surprise.
Don't think of this as beer and it is easier not to criticism the lack of beer-like smell and taste.
