The India Pale Ale were originally brewed in England as a higher hopped and higher ABV version of the English Pale Ale that was very popular in India.
Ranging in color from a pale gold to a reddish amber, the focus of the American IPA is American hops. These hop flavors can be citrusy, fruity, piney, and floral. The malt is usually a light caramel or biscuit - and very crisp and clean, in order to let the hop flavors and bitterness (which is usually moderate to high) shine through.
Usually served cool, 46-54 degrees, in a pint glass, a tumbler, or a beer mug.

Pours golden in colour with a lively white head. It has a very floral and citrus nose from the hops and jasmine flowers while hints of spicy phenolics and fruity esters come through on the finish.
A classic American-style India Pale Ale, Northern Lights weighs in at 52 IBUs and 6.5% ABV. Characterized by its full-flavored bitterness and poignant citrus-floral aroma, a perfect blend of barley and hops makes this a very balanced IPA.
Sixpoint Bengali Tiger is reminiscent of the century-old English IPA. In my perspective, many current IPAs suffer from lacking substance; unbalanced by a hoppy assertiveness that is not substantiated by a strong foundation of rich malt flavors.
